Manage your URL Library
The URL library holds your site pages so NarraSEO can suggest internal links. Add a URL with its title, primary keyword, and page type, and mark pillar pages to prioritise them.
Last updated 1 day ago
The URL library is where you tell NarraSEO which pages exist on your site, so internal link suggestions point at real, relevant pages.
Find it at /dashboard/settings/url-library. It is not in the sidebar.
Why it is Worth Filling In
When you turn on Internal Links as an article enhancement, NarraSEO needs to know what it can link to. It reads your sitemap, but a sitemap gives it URLs without context: no primary keyword, no page type, no sense of which pages matter most.
The library adds that context. Filling it in is the difference between internal links that land on the right page and internal links that land on whatever looked close.
Internal link suggestions do not cost credits, so there is no reason not to.
Add a URL
- Go to the URL library.
- Select Add URL.
- Fill in the fields.
- Select Save URL.
The Fields
Pillar Pages
Pillar pages are prioritised for internal link suggestions. They show a Pillar badge in the list.
Mark your genuinely important pages: your main service pages, your cornerstone guides, the pages you want to rank. Marking everything as a pillar defeats the point, since the prioritisation only helps if it distinguishes.
Getting the Primary Keyword Right
This field does most of the work. NarraSEO matches article content against these keywords to decide which page to link to.
Use the term the page actually targets, not a description of the page. A page about choosing a boiler should have "how to choose a boiler", not "boiler information page".
Delete a URL
Select Delete on the row. The confirmation explains that the URL will be removed from your library and internal link suggestions will no longer include it.
Delete pages you have taken down, so articles stop linking to them.
Notes
The library is per project. Each project has its own site and its own pages.
Import from sitemap appears in the interface marked as coming soon. For now, adding URLs is manual.
Because it is manual, prioritise. Twenty well-described important pages produce better internal linking than a hundred hastily added ones.
Adding a page to the library does not create it on your site. This is a description of pages that already exist.
If Internal Links Come Back Thin or Wrong
The library is the first place to look. Common causes:
- Not enough pages in it. Nothing to link to.
- Vague primary keywords. Nothing to match against.
- Nothing marked as a pillar. No prioritisation.
- Deleted pages still listed. Links to pages that no longer exist.
