Adding Prompts
- Select Add prompt, or Add your first prompts if you have none.
- Type the question.
- Select Save.
Manage prompts opens the full list, where you can Edit, Remove, and Refresh individual prompts. Your usage against your plan limit is shown there.
Suggested prompts offers questions based on your project, and Track adds one to your set.
Writing Prompts Worth Tracking
You have a limited number, from 5 on Trial to 150 on Scale, and each one costs credits every time it runs. Choose deliberately.
Ask what a customer would ask. Real questions in natural language, not keywords. "What is the best CRM for a small accounting firm" rather than "best CRM small business".
Prefer questions where being mentioned means something. "Who are the best boiler engineers in Manchester" is worth tracking. "What is a boiler" is not, because a mention there wins you nothing.
Include your comparison questions. "X vs Y" and "alternatives to X" prompts are where buying decisions get made, and where being absent costs you most.
Cover your actual services. If you sell three things, cover all three rather than spending your allowance on variations of one.
Do not track your brand name alone. An assistant asked about your company by name will usually mention you. It tells you nothing.
The prompts that earn their credits are the ones where a customer is choosing between options and has not yet decided.
Reading Prompt Status
Prompts also carry a Priority of High, Medium, or Low, and an Intent of Local, Commercial, Informational, Comparison, or Transactional.
Comparison and Commercial intent prompts deserve most of your attention, because those are the ones near a decision.
Reading the Results
Mention Rate Against Citation Rate
The gap between these two is the most informative thing on the page.
Mentioned but not cited means assistants know of you and are not pointing readers to your site. You are losing the click.
Cited as well as mentioned is what you want, and it usually correlates with having a substantive page on the topic rather than a passing reference.
Top Sources
Which sites assistants actually cite on your topics.
Look at what those pages have in common. Usually they are specific, well structured, and answer the question directly rather than building up to it. That is a template you can follow.
Visibility Opportunities
The gaps: prompts where you are absent and could reasonably compete. This is the most direct route from this page to a content decision.
Share of Voice
You against your competitors. Bear in mind this uses the competitors in your Brand Profile, so a poor competitor list makes this panel less useful.
Refreshing
Individual Prompts
Refresh in the Manage prompts dialog rechecks one prompt. The credit cost is shown on the button. You will see "Refreshing this promptβ¦".
This is the controlled way to spend credits here: recheck the two or three prompts you actually care about rather than the whole set.
Auto-Refresh Monthly
A project-level toggle. Prompts you flag are rechecked about once a month.
The toggle alone changes nothing. Flag the individual prompts you want on the schedule, which is what the hint means by "Only flagged prompts refresh on their own."
When on, the label shows the monthly cost, such as "Auto-refresh on, 200 credits/mo". Check that against your plan credits before leaving it running, because it recurs every month whether or not you look at the results.
Turning Results into Work
The loop that works:
- Find a prompt where you are Not visible and the intent is Commercial or Comparison.
- Look at Top sources for that topic and read what gets cited.
- Write an article that answers the prompt directly and specifically.
- Make it citable. The GEO signals in your Content Score exist for this: clear intent, key takeaways, an FAQ, extractable structure like lists and tables, and real references.
- Wait, then refresh that prompt. Do not recheck in a day. Assistants do not reindex on your schedule.
Notes
Results vary between runs. The same prompt can produce different answers, which is a property of these systems rather than a measurement fault. Judge trends, not single checks.
If a check is running you see "A prompt check is running. Results refresh automatically when it completes."
Partial results are labelled: "Some AI platforms or competitor sources are unavailable. Metrics reflect only the completed checks."
Filters have their own empty state, "No matching prompts", with a prompt to clear them.
You cannot make an AI assistant cite you. There is no submission process. Being cited follows from being a good source on the topic.
