How Credits Work

Credits are the one currency in NarraSEO. Writing an article, running an AI Visibility check, and crawling a page all draw from the same balance, so you are not tracking separate quotas for separate features.

Where your Credits Come From

Your plan grants an amount every month, from 5,000 on Starter to 80,000 on Scale. This resets at the start of each billing period.

Credit packs are one-off purchases you can add at any time. These are separate from your plan credits and last 12 months.

A trial grants 1,000 credits, regardless of which plan you are trialling.

How Work is Priced

Every action has a fixed price you see before you commit. An article is 300 credits whether you write it in Write Article, Quick Draft, or Autoblog, so no route is a cheaper way to get the same thing.

Where price depends on scale, it is charged by the unit and the amount is shown first:

• A site audit costs 1 credit per page crawled, up to 100 pages in a run.
• An AI Visibility run costs 10 credits per question per platform, and shows you the total before it starts.
• A carousel costs 100 credits per slide, and you choose the slide count first.

What Does Not Cost Credits

A good deal of what feels like AI work is included rather than charged:

• Keyword research, including the keyword ideas and their metrics
• Checking who ranks for a keyword, and search trend history
• The SEO title and description generated with your article
• Internal link suggestions
• Your content quality score
• The humanize check and the plagiarism check. Only the rewrite is charged.
• Stock image and YouTube searches
• Reading a link you paste
• Brand voice suggestions during setup

These are covered by your plan under fair use, which is set well above normal working volume. You are not meant to ration them.

Holds, and What Happens when Work Fails

When you start something that costs credits, the amount is held rather than spent. You will see a "held" figure next to your balance in the top bar.

If the work finishes, the hold becomes a charge. If it fails or you cancel, the held credits return to your balance. You are not charged for an article that did not produce an article.

For work charged by the unit, the hold is the maximum it could cost and the final charge is what was actually delivered. A site audit on a 60 page site holds 100 credits and charges 60.

Expiry

Plan credits expire at the end of the billing period they were granted for, plus a few days of grace so a late renewal does not leave you at zero. They do not roll over. If you have 4,000 credits left on the last day of the month, next month you start at your plan amount, not your plan amount plus 4,000.

Pack credits last 12 months from purchase.

Credits are always spent soonest-expiring first. Because plan credits expire at the end of the period and pack credits last a year, that normally means your plan allowance is used before your packs. Buying a pack therefore does not cause you to lose plan credits you would otherwise have used.

Running Low

The top bar warns you when your balance will not cover another article, and again when you reach zero.

At zero, work that costs credits stops. Autoblog pauses rather than failing permanently, and picks up when you have credits again. Nothing you have already produced is affected, and you can still read, edit, and publish existing documents.

Two ways forward: buy a credit pack for a one-off need, or move up a plan if you are consistently short. If you are running out every month, the plan change is the cheaper answer.

Team Accounts

Credits belong to the account, not the person. Everyone in a team workspace spends from the same balance.

You can set a monthly credit limit per member when you invite them or afterwards, which caps how much any one person can spend. Owners are not limited.

Where to Look

Your balance is always in the top bar. For detail, open Settings → Usage, which shows credits available, credits used this period, and an activity feed of what spent them.
