How Publishing Works

Connect your platform once in Integrations, then use Publish in the writing workspace to send an article to it as a draft, published post, or scheduled post. You can also download a copy as Doc, PDF, HTML, or Markdown.

NarraSEO writes the article. Publishing is how it gets onto your website.

The Shape of It

  1. Connect your platform once, in Integrations. This is per project.
  2. Write and edit the article.
  3. Select Publish in the writing workspace.
  4. Choose the destination and status, then send it.

The connection is a one-off. Every article after that is a couple of clicks.

The Two Routes Out

The Publish panel has two tabs, described as "Send this article to your site or download a copy."

To your Site

Sends the article to a connected platform. NarraSEO handles the formatting, images, and metadata for you.

Download

Exports a copy in Doc, PDF, HTML, or Markdown, described as "Export a copy if you want to publish manually."

This is the fallback for any platform without an integration, and the route for handing an article to somebody else.

Two Kinds of Integration

Publishing & CMS

The platforms your website runs on: WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Duda, Framer, Shopify, Wix, BigCommerce, Joomla, Drupal, GoHighLevel, Brilliant Directories, and Contentful.

None of these require a particular plan. They are available on every plan.

Developer

For building your own integration: the Next.js Blog package, the API, and Webhooks.

These require Creator or above. Creator includes 25,000 API requests and 5,000 webhook deliveries a month.

How Platforms Connect

Three patterns, depending on the platform.

OAuth. You select connect, approve NarraSEO on the platform, and come back. Shopify, Wix, and BigCommerce work this way, though Shopify and BigCommerce need a store identifier first.

Credential form. You collect an API key or token from your platform and paste it in. WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Framer, Joomla, Drupal, GoHighLevel, Brilliant Directories, and Contentful work this way.

RSS feed. Duda's recommended route. NarraSEO generates a feed URL, you paste it into Duda, and completed articles appear in the feed automatically.

Credential forms are more work upfront, and every one has a step-by-step guide on the Integrations page with links to the right screen in your platform.

Verifying a Connection

Most credential-based integrations have a Verify connection button. Use it. It confirms the credentials work before you try to publish an article, which is a much better place to discover a typo.

OAuth platforms do not have one, because completing the OAuth flow is itself the proof.

Publish Status

You are not limited to publishing live. Most platforms offer Draft, Published, and Scheduled, so you can send the article for review in your own CMS first.

Publish statuses have their own article.

Notes

Integrations are per project, because each project is a different website. Connecting WordPress for one project does not connect it for another.

Publishing does not cost credits. You pay to write the article, not to send it.

An article can be published more than once, and to more than one destination.

Formatting travels with the article, though how it renders depends on your theme. Check the first article you publish on your own site.

Choosing between an Integration and a Download

Use an integration if you publish regularly. The setup cost is paid once and every article afterwards is faster, plus you get scheduling and status control.

Use a download if you publish rarely, if your platform is not supported, if your CMS is heavily customised, or if somebody else does the publishing.
