I Ran Out of Credits

Check your balance in Settings, Usage. You can buy a credit pack for an immediate top-up, turn on automatic top-up to prevent it recurring, or wait for your plan credits to renew at your next billing date.

An action was blocked, or you saw a message about insufficient credits.

Confirm the Balance

Open Settings β†’ Usage. It shows your remaining credits and what you have spent them on.

If you are on a team account, also check whether you have a personal monthly credit limit. An owner can set a per-member cap, so the workspace can have credits while your own limit is used up. In that case the fix is asking the owner to raise your limit, not buying more credits.

Your Three Options

Buy a Credit Pack

The fastest fix. Packs are one-off purchases that top up your balance immediately, and they are available on any plan.

Open Settings β†’ Billing and choose a pack.

Turn on Automatic Top-Up

Stops this happening again. When your balance falls below a threshold you set, NarraSEO buys a pack automatically.

Worth turning on if you run Autoblog or scheduled publishing, because those run without you watching and a mid-schedule shortfall means articles that do not get written.

Automatic top-up stops after two consecutive payment failures, so a declined card eventually leaves you in the same position.

Wait for Renewal

Plan credits renew on your billing date. If you are near it and not in a hurry, this costs nothing.

Why the Balance Went Faster than Expected

Worth understanding, because it usually changes what you do next.

AI images. An article is 300 credits. Adding an AI cover image is 100 more, and cover plus in-article images is 200 more. On a run of articles that is a large share of the total.

Optimization tools. Content Boost is 100, a plagiarism rewrite is 100, and a humanize rewrite is 50. These are charged when the rewrite is generated, so rejecting one does not refund it.

Ask Narra. 25 credits for a quick edit, 150 for research-backed, and 300 for a large edit. Many small edits add up quietly.

Autoblog. It writes on a schedule whether or not you are paying attention.

Shared across projects. Credits belong to the workspace. If you run several projects, they all draw on one balance.

Reducing Consumption

Turn off AI images by default in Brand Profile β†’ Enhance, and turn them on for the articles that need them.

Run the free checks first. Both the humanize and plagiarism checks are free and tell you whether the paid rewrite is worth running.

Edit by hand. Manual editing costs nothing, and for a specific change you have in mind it is usually better than an instruction.

Fill in your Brand Profile. Better inputs mean fewer regenerations, which is the cheapest saving available.

Check your Autoblog cadence matches what you actually want published.

If you Think the Balance is Wrong

Settings β†’ Usage itemises what was spent. Check it against what you remember doing, particularly Autoblog runs and optimization runs, which are easy to forget.

If it still does not add up, contact support with the date and the action you are querying.

How credits work explains balances and expiry. What each action costs lists every price. Buying a credit pack and turning on automatic top-up cover those two options in full.
