What Each Publish Status Means
Draft sends the article to your CMS unpublished, Scheduled sets a future date on your platform, and Published makes it live immediately. Your Documents list shows Draft on site, Scheduled, or Published once it has been sent.

There are two different sets of statuses in NarraSEO, and confusing them is common.
Publish status is what you choose when sending an article to your site.
Document status is what your Documents list shows about where an article has got to.
Publish Status, Chosen when you Send
Draft
The article arrives in your CMS unpublished. Nobody outside your site's admin can see it.
You then publish it from your CMS when you are ready.
This is the right default when you are still learning how your theme renders NarraSEO articles, when somebody else approves content, or when you want to set categories and tags by hand.
The button reads Save draft to WordPress, or the equivalent for your platform.
Published
The article goes live immediately. It is on your website and visible to anyone.
The button reads Publish to WordPress, or the equivalent.
Only choose this once you trust the output and have seen how your theme handles it.
Scheduled
The article is sent with a future date, and your platform publishes it at that time.
You set the date in Publish date on WordPress, or Publish date and time on most other platforms. The button reads Schedule on WordPress.
The scheduling is handled by your CMS, not by NarraSEO, so it happens whether or not you are logged in here.
Contentful does not support scheduling. It offers Draft and Publish only.
Document Status, Shown in your List
Your Documents list shows where each article stands.
Completed is the one people misread. It means the article is finished in NarraSEO. It does not mean it is on your website. Nothing reaches your site until you publish it.
Humanize ready is worth acting on, because you have already been charged for that rewrite and it is sitting unreviewed.
Where the Two Sets Meet
Choosing Draft when publishing produces a document status of Draft on site. Choosing Published produces Published.
The document status reflects what NarraSEO last sent. If you later change the post in your CMS, for example publishing a draft from WordPress, NarraSEO does not necessarily know.
Notes
Publishing again updates the article on platforms that support updating.
Changing a document's status in NarraSEO does not change the post on your site. The statuses record what happened rather than controlling it after the fact.
Archiving in NarraSEO does not remove anything from your website. To unpublish, use your CMS.
Recommended Pattern
For your first few articles, publish as Draft and review on your own site before making it live. Themes handle tables, headings, and featured images differently, and one look at a real draft tells you more than any amount of checking in the editor.
Once you know your theme behaves, move to Published or Scheduled depending on whether you batch your writing. Scheduling suits anyone who writes several articles in one sitting and wants them to appear across the following weeks.
