Build Topic Clusters
Topic Clusters generates a three level map of pillars, clusters, and article-ready topics from your Brand Profile for 50 credits. You can edit every level and start an article from any topic.

Topic Clusters maps your business into a content strategy: pillars from your services, clusters by audience need, and article-ready topic titles under each. Find it at Sidebar → Plan → Topic Clusters.
It costs 50 credits for the whole tree. Figures are as of 2026-08-30.
Before you Start
A completed Brand Profile. The tree is generated from your services, audience, and positioning, so a thin profile produces a thin map. If your profile is not ready you will see a prompt to Complete Brand Profile rather than a generate button.
Steps
- Go to
Sidebar → Plan → Topic Clusters. - Select Generate tree.
- Wait while it builds. The status shows Generating…
The Three Levels
Pillars are your major topic areas, drawn from your services. For example "SEO Services & Strategy".
Clusters sit under pillars and group topics by audience need. For example "SEO for Small Business".
Topics are article-ready titles. For example "SEO for Small Business Owners: Boost Local Rankings".
The header shows counts of pillars, clusters, and topics.
Why This Structure Matters
Search engines reward sites that cover a subject thoroughly and link it together, rather than sites with scattered unrelated posts. A pillar with well-linked supporting articles beneath it performs better than the same number of articles with no relationship.
The tree gives you that shape before you write, which is far easier than trying to impose it on 40 existing posts.
Editing the Tree
The generated map is a starting point. Everything is editable:
- Add pillar, Add cluster, Add topic
- Rename anything
- Delete topic, Delete cluster, Delete pillar
- Expand all and Collapse all
- Regenerate to rebuild the whole tree
Your own knowledge of your market beats the generated map in specific places. Adding the two or three topics your customers actually ask about is usually the highest-value edit you can make.
Focus Keywords
Each topic can carry a focus keyword. Use Add focus keyword or Edit focus keyword, and Choose from Keyword Planner to pick one you have already researched.
Setting focus keywords turns the tree from a list of ideas into a plan, because each topic then has a target rather than just a title.
Writing from a Topic
Select Write "topic title" on any topic and choose Write Article or Quick Draft. The topic and its focus keyword carry into the flow.
Tracking Coverage
Topics you have written show a Covered chip. Hide covered filters them out so you can see what is left, and Show covered brings them back.
This is what makes the tree useful over months rather than just at the start. It becomes a checklist of what you have and have not published.
Finding Things
Filter pillars, clusters, or topics… searches the whole tree.
Notes
The tree is per project.
Regenerate replaces the existing tree, including your edits and focus keywords. If you have invested in editing, add to the tree manually rather than regenerating.
Generating charges 50 credits each time, including regeneration.
If generation fails you will see "Couldn't generate your topic tree", and your Brand Profile is unaffected. Try again re-runs it.
