Schedule an Article

Scheduling puts an article on a date. What happens on that date depends on which of three routes you choose.

Steps

1. Go to Sidebar → Plan → Content Calendar.
2. Select Schedule on the date you want.
3. In Schedule a post, pick a time.
4. Under How to create this post, choose one of the three options below.
5. Confirm.

You can only schedule posts for today or future dates. Attempting a past date shows "You can only schedule posts for today or future dates."

The Three Routes

Write Article Wizard

Opens the full wizard and schedules this slot while you write.

Use this when you are writing the article now and want it dated for later. You keep complete control over topic, keywords, title, and outline.

Quick Draft

Generates a fast draft and keeps it on this date.

Use this when you want the article written now with fewer decisions, and published on the scheduled date.

Autoblog Keyword

Marked Automated. Drafts near publish time and posts to your CMS when Autoblog is on.

Use this when you want the slot filled without being involved. Nothing is written until close to the publish time, and nothing happens at all unless Autoblog is turned on.

This is the only one of the three that does not require you to write anything.

Which to Choose

Where the Article Publishes

Scheduled posts go to the platforms selected under Publish to in the Schedule band. Without a connected platform you will see "No publishing platform connected yet."

Whether the article arrives as a draft or a live post depends on your integration settings. Publishing as a draft is the safer choice when nobody is reviewing before it goes out.

Timing with Multiple Posts a Day

The time you set is the default publish time. With more than one post scheduled in a day, posts are spaced hours apart and your chosen time is the first slot of the day.

Notes

Scheduling does not itself cost credits. The article is charged when it is written, at 300 credits, or 500 with AI images.

An Autoblog keyword slot only produces an article if Autoblog is turned on. If it is off, the slot sits there as a plan.

You can change or remove a scheduled item before its date.

Scheduling is per project.

If a Scheduled Article Did Not Publish

Check that Autoblog is on, that a platform is selected under Publish to, and that your credit balance was not empty at the scheduled time, since Autoblog pauses itself when credits run out.

Turning on publish failure notifications in Settings → Preferences means you hear about problems rather than discovering them later.
