My Google Data is Missing or Out of Date

Search Console lags about three days and Analytics about one day, which explains most cases. Otherwise check the banner on the Performance page, use Sync now, and reconnect if Google access was revoked.

The Performance page is empty, or the numbers look stale.

First: The Reporting Lag

Search Console lags about three days. Analytics lags about one day.

This is Google's delay, not NarraSEO's. It explains most reports of missing data.

The consequences:

  • Today and yesterday will look low or empty in Search Console.
  • An article published this week has almost no search data yet.
  • A 1d or 7d range is mostly made up of the lag period.

If you are checking recent activity, widen the reporting period to 30d and see whether the data is actually there.

When a window has nothing, the page says "Waiting on reporting data" and states both lags.

Second: Read the Banner

The Performance page tells you what is wrong. The banner is more reliable than guessing.

Cause 1: Access Was Revoked

Google access expires or gets revoked, particularly if someone changed the account password, removed your access to the property, or revoked third-party app access in their Google account settings.

You will see "Google access expired or was revoked. Reconnect to continue."

Open Sidebar β†’ Integrations, find the Google integration, and select Reconnect. Approve every permission checkbox.

Cause 2: Not All Permissions Were Granted

If the original connection missed a checkbox, some data never arrives while the connection still looks connected.

Reconnect and leave every permission checkbox selected.

Cause 3: The Wrong Property or Site is Selected

A connection to the wrong property works perfectly and reports almost nothing.

This is common with Search Console, which lists several variants of the same site: with and without www, http and https. Check the selected site is the one that actually receives traffic, normally the https domain property.

For Analytics, check the property matches this project's website.

Both are changed in the Google integration detail on the Integrations page.

Cause 4: Wrong Project

Performance is per project. If you switched projects, you are looking at a different site's data, and a project with no Google connection shows the connect screen.

Check the project switcher at the top of the sidebar.

Cause 5: Only One Source is Connected

Search Console and Analytics are separate. With only one connected, the metrics from the other are simply absent, and the page tells you which is missing.

Cause 6: The Site is Genuinely New

A new property has no history. Search Console needs the site verified and accumulating impressions before there is anything to report, which takes days to weeks rather than hours.

There is no way to backfill data Google never collected.

Quick Checks in Order

  1. Widen the period to 30d. Rules out the lag.
  2. Read the banner. It names the problem.
  3. Check the project in the switcher.
  4. Select Sync now and wait for it to finish.
  5. Check the selected property or site is the right one.
  6. Reconnect if access was revoked, approving every checkbox.

Notes

Sync now pulls the latest data Google has published. It cannot retrieve data Google has not published yet, so it will not fix a lag complaint.

Filtered Search Console totals can undercount, because Google withholds low-volume country and device data for privacy. Unfiltered property totals are the authoritative figures.

Active users are unavailable when you filter by channel, source, or medium, since they are a property-level metric. That is a limitation rather than missing data.

Empty cells show a dash rather than a zero, which distinguishes no data from a real zero.

Connecting Google Search Console and Connecting Google Analytics cover setup. What the Performance page shows explains the metrics and banners.
