I Cannot Open Billing

Billing is owner only on team workspaces, so members do not see the section. Check whether you are in a personal or team workspace, and whether your role is owner.

The Billing section is missing, or you cannot change the plan.

Cause 1: You are a Member, Not an Owner

The usual answer.

On a team workspace, billing is owner only. Members do not see the Billing section at all, which is why it looks missing rather than locked.

Check your role in Settings β†’ Members. If it says Member, that is the explanation.

What to Do

Ask an owner. Only an owner can change the plan, buy credit packs, update the payment method, or see invoices.

If you need to do this regularly, ask to be made an owner. Be aware that owner is a broad role covering members, roles, settings, and the subscription, not only billing.

Cause 2: You are in the Wrong Workspace

Billing is per workspace, and personal and team workspaces are billed separately.

Check the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar. If you are in a team workspace and your subscription is personal, you are looking in the wrong place. Switch and check again.

This is easy to hit when you have a personal workspace and belong to somebody else's team.

Cause 3: You are Looking in the Wrong Place

Settings is reached from the top bar, not from the sidebar.

Open Settings and select the Billing section. Usage is a separate section, showing credit consumption rather than the subscription.

If you want to see what has been spent rather than change the plan, Usage is what you want, and it is not owner-restricted in the same way.

Cause 4: No Subscription Yet

If the workspace has never had a plan, some billing screens have little to show beyond plan selection.

Choosing a plan is the way in.

Quick Checks in Order

  1. Check your role in Settings β†’ Members. Member means no billing access.
  2. Check the workspace in the switcher. Personal and team are billed separately.
  3. Open Settings from the top bar and look for the Billing section.
  4. Try Usage instead if you only need to see credit consumption.
  5. Ask an owner if you are a member and need a billing change.

If you are the Owner and it Still Will Not Open

Try a reload first, then a different browser or a private window, since extensions and blockers occasionally interfere with payment screens.

If a payment screen fails to load specifically, an ad blocker or privacy extension is a common cause.

If none of that helps, contact support and say which workspace you are in and what you were trying to do.

Notes

Owners see billing for the workspace they own. Owning one workspace does not give you billing access in another.

Credit balances belong to the workspace, so a member can see usage without being able to change the plan or buy credits.

A member's own monthly credit limit is set by an owner in Settings β†’ Members, which is a separate control from the subscription.

Roles and what each one can do covers the permission model. Personal and team workspaces explains the two levels.
