What the Brand Profile Controls

The Brand Profile has seven tabs: Business, Audience, Content, Enhance, Visuals, Voice, and Author. It feeds article generation, keyword research, and social posts, and it is the main lever on output quality.

The Brand Profile page describes itself accurately: it "powers your article generation, keyword research, and social posts."

Find it at the bottom of the sidebar, under Brand Profile. It is per project.

Why This is the Page that Matters

Every writing tool in NarraSEO reads this profile. The wizard pre-fills from it, Quick Draft resolves its decisions from it, Autoblog writes entirely from it, and Repurpose takes its voice from it.

The practical consequence: the difference between generated articles that sound like your business and generated articles that sound like nobody's business is almost always this page, not the settings you chose in the wizard.

If your output is disappointing, come here before changing anything else.

The Seven Tabs

Tab

What it covers

Business

Name, website, and services

Audience

Readers, markets, and rivals

Content

Length, tone, and cadence

Enhance

Structure, CTAs, and SEO

Visuals

Logo, colors, and image style

Voice

Tone for every sentence

Author

Byline details for E-E-A-T

Business

Business name, industry, description, website, blog base path, sitemap URL, social profiles, and your list of services.

Services matter more than they look. They shape topic clusters, keyword suggestions, and what NarraSEO thinks you sell.

Audience

Who you write for, target countries, local SEO locations, language, customer personas, competitor websites, and your positioning against them.

Content

Content goals, publishing frequency and days, publishing time, preferred article lengths, preferred writing style, and point of view. These become the defaults every article starts from.

Enhance

Which article enhancements are on by default, and their settings: image sources, aspect ratios, video sources, and your preferred calls to action.

Setting these here means you are reviewing enhancements in the wizard rather than configuring them each time.

Visuals

Brand logo, favicon, website capture, image text font, brand colours, and the AI image styles for in-article and featured images.

Voice

Your brand voice in prose, specific instructions applied to every generation, topics to avoid, and prohibited claims.

Prohibited claims are hard stops. NarraSEO will never write them, which makes this the place for compliance and accuracy constraints.

Author

The person your articles are attributed to: name, job title, bio, areas of expertise, and verification links. Used in bylines, generation prompts, and your Content Score.

Autosave

Changes save as you make them. You will see "Saving…" then "Saved" with a timestamp.

Two things block autosave:

  • No business name. You will see "Add a business name to save".
  • No project selected. You will see "Select a project to save changes".

What is Required

Only the business name, and only because autosave needs it. Every other field is optional.

That does not mean they are equally optional in effect. A profile with a business name and nothing else produces generic articles.

Where to Spend your Time

If you are filling this in for the first time and want the biggest improvement for the least effort:

  1. Business description and services. What you actually do.
  2. Audience. Who you are writing for.
  3. Voice, including prohibited claims. How you sound and what you must never say.
  4. Author profile. Enables bylines and improves your Content Score.
  5. Competitors and positioning. What makes you different.

Visuals and Enhance matter, but they change how articles look rather than whether they are worth reading.

Notes

The profile is per project, because each project is a different website with a different brand.

Onboarding pre-fills part of this from your site analysis. Treat those values as a first draft rather than as facts.

Competitors here are used to differentiate your content. NarraSEO will never mention or endorse them in your articles.

There is a separate workspace-level Brand Voice feature, distinct from this Voice tab. The Voice tab article explains the difference.
