Create, Switch, and Manage Projects

Add a project from the Switch Workspace menu at the top of the sidebar, which runs the same three step onboarding. Manage projects is where you rename, archive, and restore them.

All three are done from the project switcher at the top of the sidebar, labelled Switch Workspace.

Switch Project

  1. Select Switch Workspace at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Choose the project.

Everything scoped to a project changes with it: documents, Brand Profile, integrations, keywords, calendar, and measurement data.

If a page looks empty or a document has vanished, check this first. It is the most common explanation.

Add a Project

  1. Select Switch Workspace.
  2. Select Add project.
  3. Work through the three onboarding steps.

The flow is identical to setting up your first project, titled Let's set up your brand! rather than referring to a first project. You enter the website and business name, it analyzes the site for 20 to 30 seconds, and you review the brand card before selecting Onboard.

There is a Back to dashboard link if you change your mind partway.

Before you Add One

Check your project allowance. Starter includes 1 project, Creator 3, Pro 10, Agency 20, and Scale 40, as of 2026-08-30. Extra projects are $15 a month each and include 500 credits.

Use the real website. A project is built around a live, crawlable site. There is no useful way to create a project for a website that does not exist yet, because the analysis, sitemap, internal linking, and measurement all depend on it.

Manage Projects

Manage projects in the same menu opens the project list, where you can rename, archive, and restore.

Renaming

Changes the display name. It does not change the website the project is attached to.

Archiving

Archiving removes a project from your active list while keeping its documents and data. Use it for clients you no longer work with and sites you have stopped publishing to.

Archiving is reversible and is the right choice when you are unsure.

Restoring

Restore an archived project from the same screen. If you try to onboard a website that belongs to an archived project, NarraSEO offers to restore it rather than creating a duplicate.

Notes

You cannot have two active projects for the same website. NarraSEO tells you when a URL already belongs to a project.

Adding a project does not copy anything from an existing one. Each gets its own Brand Profile from its own site analysis, and its own integrations.

On team accounts, project access is per person. A new project is not automatically visible to everyone, so grant access in Settings → Members after creating it.

Deleting a project is not the same as archiving. Archive unless you are certain, since documents and measurement history are not recoverable once gone.

After Creating a Project

Two things are worth doing before you write:

  1. Finish the Brand Profile. The onboarding card covers a fraction of it. The full profile has seven tabs and is what makes generated articles sound like you.
  2. Connect your CMS. Publishing is per project, so a new project has no publishing destination until you add one.
