Connect Shopify
Enter your store name without the domain, since NarraSEO adds myshopify.com, then select Connect Shopify and install the app. You need at least one blog in Shopify first, and you choose which blog receives posts afterwards.

Shopify uses OAuth, so there are no API keys to copy. You do need to do one thing in Shopify first.
Available on every plan.
What you Need
- At least one blog in your Shopify Online Store.
- A store owner or staff account with permission to install apps.
Step 1: Add a Blog in Shopify First
In Shopify, open Content β Blog posts and confirm a blog exists. Create one if it does not.
Do this before connecting. Shopify stores do not always have a blog by default, and without one there is nowhere for articles to go.
Step 2: Enter your Store Name
- Open
Sidebar β Integrations. - Find Shopify under Publishing & CMS.
- In Shopify store name, enter only the store name, for example
your-store.
NarraSEO adds .myshopify.com for you, and the field shows that suffix. Do not use a custom domain here, even if that is what customers see. Shopify identifies stores by the myshopify address.
Step 3: Connect and Install
- Select Connect Shopify.
- You are taken to Shopify to install the NarraSEO app.
- Select Install or Allow.
You return to NarraSEO with a Shopify connected banner.
There is no Verify connection button, because completing the install is the confirmation.
Step 4: Choose the Blog
If your store has more than one blog, choose which one receives posts.
You will see "Choose a Shopify blog" with the explanation "Your store is linked. Choose which Online Store blog should receive posts, then save."
Select the blog under Blog and select Save blog.
Articles cannot publish until a blog is chosen.
Publishing Options
Shopify uses Draft, Publish now, and Schedule, with a Publish date and time field, plus the Featured image and Article title toggles.
If it Will Not Connect
You used a custom domain. Enter the store name that goes before .myshopify.com. If you are unsure, it is in your Shopify admin URL.
You included the domain. Enter your-store, not your-store.myshopify.com.
Your account cannot install apps. Store owners can. Staff accounts need the app install permission, which an owner can grant.
No blog exists. Create one in Content β Blog posts.
Notes
Shopify articles publish to the Online Store blog, which is separate from your product pages.
Uninstalling the NarraSEO app from Shopify disconnects the integration. Articles already published stay on your store.
The connection is per project.
Shopify blog posts support headings, lists, links, images, and tables. How they render depends on your theme's blog template, which on many themes gets less attention than product pages, so check your first post.
